“America” was the second single from The Nice, released in 1968

The Nice were an English progressive rock band active in the late 1960s. They blended rock, jazz and classical music and were keyboardist Keith Emerson’s first commercially successful band.

Written by Leonard Bernstein and originally played on a Hammond organ by Keith Emmerson before the band disbanded to form Emmerson,Lake & Palmer.

Hank Marvin made a guitar instrumental version for his 2017 solo album “Without a word”
Mine is a cover of Hank’s version using a backing track my son Andrew made which is available to purchase here :-

I made out Tabs the way I played it which are free to download here :-

Sound recorded using my Fender Custom Stratocaster 56 NOS with Kinman Impersonator 54v3 pickups on bridge position into an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 0-36 and into Cubase on the computer.

Video made with 3 x Sony SR12 camcorders and a smart phone – edited with the Cubase sound in Sony Vegas pro 9.

Please enjoy “America”
