John Farrar was the lead singer of the Australian band, The Strangers. Then he joined Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch to form Marvin, Welch, & Farrar. He later worked with Hank and Bruce again, playing second lead guitar in The Shadows. He wrote and produced songs for Dame Olivia Newton-John starting in the 70s and also was in Sir Cliff Richard’s band. He wrote or co-wrote the musical scores of “Grease,” “Xanadu,” and “Heathcliff.”
