Welcome to my version of “Ain’t No Pleasing You” composed by Chas Hodges, from Chas & Dave’s album Mustn’t Grumble, and which reached No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart in 1982.

I was lucky enough to see Chas & Dave perform live when I was 18 supporting Lindisfarne at their annual Christmas shows at Newcastle City Hall. Two great musicians with a long pedigree. Chas Hodges was bass guitarist in the early 60’s band The Outlaws who recorded under legendary producer Joe Meek, and featured a young Ritchie Blackmore on guitar. The Outlaws provided the backing band for Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley and Gene Vincent during their UK tours.
He later was a member of Cliff Bennet and The Rebel Rousers and Heads, Hands and Feet which included Albert Lee on guitar.
Chas sadly passed away in 2018.

Best wishes
Neville
