Like their previous chart-toppers, “Apache” and “Wonderful Land”, “Atlantis” was written by Jerry Lordan. The basic track was recorded at EMI Studios, Abbey Road on 13th December 1962, with orchestral and choral overdubs added at a later date. Released in May 1963, with the B-side “I Want You to Want Me”, written by Hank Marvin, “Atlantis” spent 17 weeks in the UK singles chart, peaking at number 2.

I am using a Fender Custom Shop ’57 Stratocaster, TVS3 echo unit and Vox AC15HW1X amplifier. The lead guitar part was recorded using Sennheiser e906 and Shure SM57 dynamic microphones, Focusrite Clarett 4Pre USB interface and Reaper Digital Audio Workstation. The backing track was made by removing Hank Marvin’s lead guitar from the original recording using Moises AI. It was then cleaned up and edited in Reaper. Video was recorded using a Sony FDR-AX53 camcorder.
