“Sealed with a kiss” is my 4th cover from Hank Marvin’s 2014 album “Hank”
The Shadows had originally made an instrumental cover of this Brian Hyland song on their 1990 Reflection album – But this Hank version is a totally different arrangement featuring a 12 string guitar solo.
My friend kindly loaned me his Gibson custom J200 12 string for the recording.
It’s a 1994 model made as part of Gibson’s 100th anniversary production pre owned by Mark Collins of The Charlatans – Very rare instrument only 17 made by Gibson in total. And it’s lush ! but he won’t sell it to me 🙁
For the electric I used my Fender Stratocaster custom 56NOS fitted with Kinman Impersonator 54’s V3 on Mid position. – Through an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 0-36 and into Cubase SX5.
My Son Andrew made the backing track which is available to purchase here :- http://www.philmcgarrick.co.uk/CD.html
(The BT on the download is without the 12 string solo.
If buying the BT and you want a version with the 12 string solo please contact me via my web site and I’ll send one free of charge.)
I made the pencil drawn Tabs which are free to download here :- http://www.philmcgarrick.co.uk/scores.html
Many thanks for watching… Phil
