“The Next Time” backed with “Bachelor Boy” was the first of three number one hit singles from the Cliff Richard musical, Summer Holiday (written by Bruce Welch and Cliff Richard). The song was succeeded at number one by The Shadows’ “Dance On!”.
The recording of the song took place at Abbey Road Studios in London on 10 May 1962. It was produced by Norrie Paramor and engineered by Malcolm Addey. The single spent three weeks at No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart in January 1963

Hank Marvin made an instrumental version for his 1995 album “Hank plays Cliff”
Mine is based on Hanks version using my Alan Brason custom Stratocaster with Kinman FV-HMS pickups into Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with Echoes from the past patch 0-36 and recorded in Cubase.

The Backing track came from Roger Paulsson’s Vol 8 available here :-
