“Bye Bye Love (1970)” – Hank Marvin & John Farrar

Written by Boudleaux Bryant & Felice Bryant

Recorded live in September, 1972 in Shinyuku, Tokyo, Japan

From the double-album, “Cliff Goes East” – Sir Cliff Richard

Alan Hawkshaw – keyboards
John Farrar – vocals, guitar
Hank Marvin – vocals, guitar
Trevor Spencer – drums, percussion

In this concert, the opening set was by “Marvin & Farrar.” This essentially was “Marvin, Welch and Farrar,” without Bruce Welch. They performed eight songs.

The eight songs performed by Marvin & Farrar were (1) The Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt, (2) Mr. Sun, (3) Apache, (4) Lonesome Mole, (5) Tiny Robin, (6) A Thousand Conversations (with lead vocals by Hank Marvin), (7) Bye Bye Love, and (8) Back Scratcher (instrumental).

“Cliff Goes East” – a double LP set – was edited and rereleased as a single LP called, “Cliff Live in Japan ’72.” The only song by Marvin & Farrar included on this re-released album was the instrumental, “Back Scratcher.”
