Andy Ellison is an English musician and vocalist who began his musical journey in the short-lived band The Silence before forming pop art/mod rock band John’s Children, the band notable for having Marc Bolan briefly in their ranks. From 1966 to 1968 the unit would release six singles and one album. John’s Children were known for outrageous live shows and would become very influential as precursors of glam and punk rock. In more recent years there have been several compilation albums released. Next up for Andy was Jet who would issue one album in 1975. In 1977 the band morphed into Radio Stars and release two albums and several singles, one “Nervous Wreck” becoming a Top 40 hit. Radio Stars would originally call it a day in 1979 but would reform briefly in 1982. Since that time there have been a few compilations and live anniversary shows. Fast forwarding to the year 2022 would see Andy release 3 albums as well as his autobiography, “Stunt Rocker”. Radio Stars, John’s Children are still very active and my guest is fronting a new band called Vicious Bishop.
